Notes:
  1. At Vizag transit cargoes having flashpoint below 23 deg are not permitted. Agents have to take prior permission from the port on a case to case basis for vessels having such cargoes on board.
  2. All chemicals cargoes except Phosphoric acid / Ammonia and CSS cargo are mostly handled at OR 1 and OR 2 berths.
  3. Due to close vicinity of Naval docks, commercial vessel's movements are hampered as and when there are any Naval movements being carried out.
  4. Due to only one shore line installation at OR 1 and OR 2 berths respectively, simultaneous discharge of cargoes is not possible.
Cargoes are discharged one - by - one and line pigging is carried out in between different grades.
  5. Average discharge rate obtained for chemicals approx 140 - 180 mpth depending on cargo grade.
  6. Night Navigation Facilities : INNER HARBOUR
Inward movement : Round the clock navigation for ships for LOA upto 186.00 mtrs and DRAFT 9.14 mtrs except in case of ships carrying LPG, Ammonia, Naphtha
Outward movement : Round the clock navigation for ship sailings from Inner Harbour (irrespective of size) except for ships carrying LPG, Ammonia, Naphtha
  7. Night Navigation Facilities : OUTER HARBOUR
Inward movement : NOM : Mooring of ships is restricted to Day light hours only.
OSTT : Berthing of ships is restricted to Day light hours only.
Outward movement : NOM : Un-mooring of ships is restricted to day light hours only.
OSTT : Round the clock Navigation exists for sailing ships from OSTT.

All drafts are FRESH WATER drafts.
  2. HALDIA DOCKS
Night Navigation is permitted. However, vessels drawing more than 8 mtrs fresh water draft and LOA more than 210 M are not permitted for night navigation - subject to change as per port forecast.
  3. Container and iron vessels enjoy priority for berthing / unberthing. Phosphoric Acid vessels enjoy ousting priority for berthing at berth no. 6.
  4. As per port norms, all vessels calling Haldia (inside docks) should have sufficient number of fenders for double banking operations incase of heavy congestion in the port. It is mandatory for the vessel to provide an undertaking for acceptance of double banking for berthing at Haldia docks.
Tyre fenders available on hire at Haldia lock gate, incase required.
Normally vessels carrying palm oil cargo are double banked at berth off 5 or 6 for discharge thru floating pipeline.
Vessels sailing in ballast enjoy least priority for sailing. Container vessels and vessels with export cargo enjoy priority
LOW FLASH cargo restrictions apply inside Haldia docks. Vessels with low flash cargoes onboard NOT permitted to enter Haldia docks
Usually 2 to 3 vessels (depending on combined LOA/s) can berth or unberth in one favourable tide
HALDIA OIL JETTIES (outside lock gate)
Vessels calling at Haldia Oil Jetties (HOJ) berth / unberth only during favourable high tide.
Draft forecast for HOJ may vary from the Haldia draft forecast. Draft forecast for HOJ is issued by port every 15 days.
  5. Crude, Ammonia and LPG vessels are given priority for berthing.
  6. At HOJ 1, vessel to maintain minimum 45 M parallel body length.
  7. At HOJ 2 & 3, vessels to maintain minimum 85 M parallel body length.
  8. As per port norms, all vessels calling at HOJ should have minimum 22 ropes for mooring purpose.

Calcutta - NSD (Netaji Subhash Docks). Steaming time from Budge Budge to NSD is abt 4-5 hrs. These docks are situated in the lock gate. The tanker berth is NSD no. 12 where restrictions are as follows:
NSD 12 160 28 * Lube oil/Edible oils/Others
Note:
  1. Draft:
Budge Budge is a riverine port and permissible draft forecast is published by Port in advance every month. All drafts are FRESH WATER drafts.
  2. Berthing:
At Budge Budge port, petroleum tankers enjoy berthing priority. All vessels must report to Sandheads anchorage. Vessel must arrive Sandheads minimum 4 hours prior suitable tide and proceed to Upper Gasper (pilot station) for picking up river pilot. Steaming time from pilot station to Budge Budge anchorage is about 6 hours, depending on vessel's speed. Port pilot will navigate vessel from Budge Budge anchorage to berth. Berthing / unberthing carried out only during suitable daylight tide.

Vessels must have sufficient mooring ropes (minimum 13 separate coils). No anchoring point available between Upper Gasper to Budge Budge Anchorage Usually only one vessel berthing / unberthing carried out in a daylight tide

  4. Discharge arrangements:
Temporary flexible pipelines of 6" or 8" inches diameter are laid by the receivers from the berth to the hired/contracted tank terminals. Average distance from the berths to tank terminal installations is about 2 to 2 KMs due to which discharge rate is low. Average disrate achieved for most chemical grades is approx 130 - 150 MTPH
Fresh water supply possible thru port by shore pipeline, subject to availability. F/W load rate around 3 - 4 mtph.
  5. Port operations closed during BORE tide periods declared by Port. No vessels allowed to be alongside berth.
